Botorace


As the world is becoming more and more advanced in technology, an even greater amount of energy is being used to keep up with the changing requirements. At the current rate at which energy is being used, the world will shortly come to an end of fossil fuels - the world's primary energy resource. You think you can drive, think again! No motors, no engines… just brains.


PROBLEM OF STATEMENT:

The challenge this year is to design, build, and test, a boat that uses a fuel without any motor. The competition will consist of running your boat for a certain distance. The boat with lowest time (taken to cover that particular distance) will win and should even be a fascinating one.

SPECIFICATIONS:

Teams shall send their names and abstract directly and should come prepared with the model. The teams shall be evaluated after investigating the model on the day of event.

Team Specification:
TEAM FORMATION
  • Boto-race is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students of engineering.
  • Any team can have a maximum of 2 students.
  • No student can be part of more than one team.
  • It is not necessary that the students forming a team should be from the same college.
  • There is no restriction on the number of teams from the same college.

 PHASE I
  •  Submission of  entries the abstract should either in form of Word Document or PDF, less than 200 words, Times New Roman, 12 font size, with default spacing. Abstract may contain pictures/graphs if needed. Specifying your team name.
  •  Specify the registration id of and your team mates in the mail.
   However, it is ultimately the responsibility of the teams to keep themselves updated.

RULES:

    1. If a team submits their abstract multiple times, the one sent at the last will be considered for evaluation.
    2. If a team a motor or any other derived from it, then the team is disqualified.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

All the students studying in their 2nd, prefinal/final year of B. Tech

JUDGING DETAILS:

·         The boat with minimum time, with which it will cover that particular distance, shall be the winner.
